Equestrian Uses for PVC End Caps

PVC END CAPS - Equestrian Uses

End caps are used for finishing off vinyl post. Equestrian uses include pasture fence, jump standards, cavalletti, flower boxes, and dressage arenas.

End caps can stay in place by gravity when being used on fence posts. In more active uses - jump components and cavalletti, for example, end caps are often too loose to stay on by themselves. The best permanent solution is attachment with pvc glue. While we can't provide this product due to shipping regulations, pvc glue is readily available at your home improvement store.

Place a rubber band flat around the post edge.

Attach the end cap and check for secure fit.

Before attaching end caps permanently to cavalletti, check for these two condiitions:
1. If any adjustments are needed, like inside bolting of oversize rails, it's a lot easier to do before the ends are attached permanently.
2. End caps don't affect single cavalletti but they do make them less stable when stacked. If you want to stack them for jumping, it is best to keep the end caps removable.

Flower box end caps are often left removable for two reasons.
1. Multiple flower boxes can be stacked side by side much closer by removing the inside end caps.
2. When using the flower boxes as garland ground lines, the end caps can be used to fasten the ends of the garland.

An excellent temporary way to tighten end caps is by using a rubber band around the edge of the vinyl post, and then carefully fastening the end cap onto it. Flat #34 rubber bands are ideal, but nearly any will do.

We send these temporary fasteners with our end caps when shipping cavalletti and flower boxes. This way you can set up and use the products while you decide if you prefer to glue them permanently.
